ABOUT US
Global Foundation for Hope Care and Development (GFHCD) is a Non- Governmental Organization dedicated to caring for and giving hope to the vulnerable Nigerian Child. The idea for this NGO was birthed by a group of Friends that saw the need to pool resources together in bid to assist the neglected child whose future is threatened by the gross spate of poverty in the country.
We are concerned about the growing number of children who require medical attention but cannot access such due to the financial status of their parents and guardians in our local society. It is also noted that many clinic and hospital are overwhelmed by the increasing number of children awaiting medical attention due to lack of funds.
These children stand the risk of malnutrition, disease, abject poverty, child abuse, illiteracy, mental disorder and early deaths. We aim to prevent this by ensuring that they are able to have a wholesome life and a bright future by getting access to amenities such as food, potable water and healthcare, thereby improving the child mortality index in Nigeria.
This we achieve in several ways, which include collaboration with orphanages, hospitals, government agencies, and schools. We monitor (and sometimes control) each stage of the process from fund provision, procurement, preparation to food served in a plate for the children. It is essential to eliminate waste from the process that is aimed at reducing childhood hunger and we take the responsibility for utilizing donor inputs very seriously.
Save A Child
Unfortunately, a lot of children have been lost simply because their parents were unable to afford the cost of medical treatment or supplies. With this initiative we actively seek out children facing this predicament and cover their expenses for the treatment required.
We liaise with hospital authorities in pediatric, neo-natal, and maternity departments to identify critical cases and design an intervention to prevent avoidable mortalities. In this wise, we provide funding for surgeries, medicines, equipment and consumables.
Where we provide equipment and medical consumables to any hospital unit, it is with the caveat that it be made available to those needing it at no cost to the child patient or parents.
Feed A Child
Malnutrition in children from poor diets leads to increased risk of exposure to various life-threatening illness due to poor immune systems and/or a general lack of proper nutrients, vitamins, fibers, etc. We believe every child has the right to a proper meal and a balanced diet. This program works to identify at-risk children in dire need of sustenance and provides food support for them.
